The original site for this new 1-story 3,200 square foot home was a densely wooded 1.5 acres, featuring large mature pines and a rolling landscape. Although there are neighboring homes to either side, the objective here was to strategically clear the site to create a tranquil setting in which the wooded scenery dominates the view from every room in the house. To achieve this, the layout of the home is such that it is focused around a central courtyard patio in the back of the house, where the majority of the wooded area is within view. The U-shape creates more exterior walls and allows views from master and guest suites on opposite wings, as well as from the main open living area at the center. Large windows throughout these areas also filter plenty of light into every area of the home.
